Suspected cultists have killed four persons in Edeoha Community in Ahoada East Local Government Area of Rivers State, causing fear and panic among other residents of the community.
According to sources, the suspected cultists are members of an Iceland cult group, who carried out the attack around 2 a.m. on Sunday night while the residents of the community were asleep.
Sources also said that the cultists, who were heavily armed with powerful weapons shot sporadically as they moved from one compound to another to hunt for their targets.
It is unclear if the killing was retaliatory or a turf war with another rival gang, but it was gathered that the cultists met no resistance as they carried out the attack.
It was gathered that the suspected cultists launched the attack from a neighbouring community and that the victims were not cult members.
Sources also said that three of the victims are from Edeoha while one of them is from the Ekata community still in Ahoada East LGA.
