Pupils protests, block expressway over death of one of them


Pupils of United Comprehensive High School, Wasimi in Ewekoro Local Government Area of Ogun State on Thursday morning, took to the road to protest the alleged killing of one of their own. It was learnt that the pupils, in their large numbers blocked the Lagos-Abeokuta Expressway, thereby causing none movement of vehicles.

According to reports, it was  learnt that an unidentified pupil of the school was reportedly killed while crossing the road.

This angered the students who trooped out en mass to protest.

A source told newsmen that motorists plying the road were not allowed to go about their businesses due to the blockage.

The source said, “It was the students of United Comprehensive High school that were turning vehicles back and did not allow vehicles to ply the road.”

It was said that the development made the travellers both from Lagos and Abeokuta stranded for hours.
