Police Nab Two Suspected Armed Robbery Syndicates In Adamawa

The Adamawa State Police Command has taken into custody two individuals suspected of armed robbery.

The two were claimed to be among five individuals who had terrorized motorists on the Numan-Lafiya road between Adamawa and Gombe states.

According to a statement issued on Wednesday by the State Police Command, the suspects are Bello Siddiki, 31, and Hammadu Saidu, 25, both live in Sabewa Borrong, Demsa Local Government Area, Adamawa State.

The arrest was the outcome of a thorough investigation conducted under the direction of the state commissioner of Police, according to the statement.

The statement partly reads, “These criminals are involved in multiple attacks on motorists along the highway, including the recent robbery of a Sienna Bus conveying passengers from Abuja to Yola, including one Hassan Kwaji, during which they attacked and robbed them of their handsets and other valuables.”

The statement identified the items recovered from the suspects as two machetes, a knife, a handset, and a SIM card that was thought to have been used in the conduct of crimes.

“The suspects will be charged to court to face the full consequences of their actions,” the Police assured.
