Police Arrest Suspect For Threatening To Kidnap A Family In Jigawa

The Jigawa State Police command has taken into custody two individuals for reportedly threatening to kidnap a businessman and his family.

DSP Lawan Shiisu Adam, the police spokesman confirmed the arrest in a statement made available to Sunday Telegraph.

According to him, “One Dauda Adamu ‘m’ 52yrs of Zadau village B/Kudu LGA reported at B/Kudu Division that, unknown persons called him on the phone and threatened him to give them money or else the risk of being kidnapped together with his family”

He stated that after getting the report, police officers from the B/Kudu Division jumped into action.

DSP Shiisu stated that on a tip-off, Ahmed Audu of Basirka town, Gwaram LGA, and Adebayo Abayomi of Ogigi village, Ijumu LGA, Kogi State, were arrested and taken to the Station for further investigation.

Speaking during the Police interrogation, the suspects confessed to committing the crime, and the SIM card used to call the complainant was confiscated from them.

The accused were sent to SCID Dutse for a discreet investigation.
