The Nigerian Television Authority, NTA Channel 12, Uyo, has described the untimely exit of Late CP Waheed Ayilara as shocking and devastating adding that the prayer of the Media Organization is for God to console the bereaved Ayilara’s family, Akwa Ibom State Police Command and the entire Nigerian Police Force
Members of NTA conveyed the message, Wednesday 4th September, 2024 when the General Manager Mrs. Alice Ugbe led other management staff on a condolence Visit to the Command.
Mrs Ugbe in NTA’s message of condolence described the Late CP as a fine gentleman, a through bred super cop whose mission to fight crime was unpretentious. She prayed God to receive the soul of the late CP and encouraged the Management, officers and men of the Nigerian Police in Akwa Ibom State to ensure that the legacies of Late CP Ayilara is upheld as a crime fighter.
In acknowledgement, the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of Administration DCP Regina Udoette who received the NTA team with other management staff of the Command described the visit as a source of strength to the Command and added that the Late CP was a Father, a mentor and a role model to almost, if not all officers and men in Commands he has worked in.
DCP Udoette said the news of the CP’s death was troubling, shocking and trembling but that since it was the will of God, the Command has to take it like a bitter pill and moved on. She assured the NTA management that the Command will not relent in it’s crime tackling objectives. He expressed the appreciation of Officers and men of the Command to NTA and urged them to at all times uphold professionalism in their reportage. DCP Udoette observes that what NTA did is not only a show of empathy but a display of humanity. She said, “the Command is really touched by this visit and we are not taking it for granted”.
