Nigerian Army repels Boko Haram fighters in Damaturu

The Nigerian Army said it has repelled Boko Haram insurgents who attacked Gonar Bukar settlement on the outskirt of Damaturu, the Yobe capital.

Spokesman of the army’s Operation Lafiya Dole, Captain Njoka Irabor said troops engaged the insurgents “with the timely arrival of air taskforce.

Although the number of casualties is unknown, residents say, casualties were recorded from the military as well as Boko Haram fighters.
