Terrorists operating in the forest areas of Munya and Shiroro Local Government Areas of Niger State have abducted no fewer than 56 people on June 3 from Kankuru, Adogon-Mallam and Tungan-Kawo communities.

It has turned out that one of the gangs holding 20 people is demanding 10 million Naira, three motorcycles, and 10 bags of rice, while another group is demanding 53 million Naira, with other gangs yet to mention their demands.

A source in the area said 30 people were kidnapped from Kankuru Village on Sunday night, while 26 others were abducted from Adogon-Mallam and Tungan-Kawo communities, in Shiroro Local Government Area.

Kankuru Village is a kilometre away from Kuchi, where 150 people, including pregnant women, nursing mothers and children, were kidnapped recently.

It was also gathered that the terrorists had reportedly shot a seven-year-old boy dead, because he was unable to move quickly, when they were being taken into the forest.

A source who confirmed that the incident occurred in Kapana Village in Munya Local Government Area, recounted that the boy had been sick, a fact unknown to the terrorists.
