The President of the manufacturers association of Nigeria, M.A.N Mansur Ahmed has expressed concern that poor political will by African leaders may frustrate the continental free trade area agreement to which Nigeria just appended her signature.
Ahmed said the thirty billion naira revenue accruable to Nigeria could be more because of the country’s position as one of the largest manufacturers of goods and services on the African continent.
Ahmed said leaders must insist on made in Africa products to avoid continuous dumping from other continents and must also make government agencies like the customs and immigration work in harmony.
Ahmed who gave reasons why Nigeria delayed in signing the agreement called for stringent sanctions for violators of the protocol.
President Buhari after signing the ACFTAG in Niamey Niger Republic said the continent is on her way to greatness.
