Some unknown gunmen on Thursday evening abducted Alhaja Seliat Raji, an elder sister to Ahmed Raji, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) in her house in Iseyin Town, killing her security guard in the process.
According to a source, the kidnappers arrived at the residence of the woman on a motorcycle, and in an attempt to force their way in, shot and killed the security guard.
Upon gaining entry, Saturday Telegraph learnt that the Alhaja was abducted and the kidnappers went away with her in her Lexus car.
When contacted for confirmation of the incident, the Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the Oyo State Police Command, Adewale Osifeso, said the kidnap was true and that an investigation had begun on the matter.
He said, “The kidnap information is true. Investigation is ongoing. Updates will be communicated, please,” he said.
Saturday Telegraph learnt from a reliable source that the kidnappers had contacted the senior lawyer on the phone, but it was not confirmed if a ransom demand had been made from him.
