Governor Abiodun declares free education in Ogun, ends N3,700 school fees

Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun has declared free education in all public schools in the state and also put to an end the N3,700 levies adopted by the Ibikunle Amosun-led administration.

The governor said that the decision was in line with his campaign promise of free education in the state, adding that the said fee was adopted by the past administration after it was suggested by Parents Teachers Association (PTA) in the state,

Nigerian Tribune reports. He added: “I have been criticized in the media about the N3,700 PTA fee. I did not introduce the fee. It was proposed by the PTA and accepted by the previous administration. The fee negates the free education policy of this administration. It is like payment through the back door
