The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Enugu Zonal Command, on Monday, arrested about 78 suspected online fraudsters in Enugu and Imo states.
The Commission said in a statement issued that twenty-nine individuals were detained in Enugu on Wednesday, May 15, 2024, while the remaining forty-nine suspects were apprehended in Imo State on Friday, May 17, 2024.
Speaking further, the anti-graft agency said the 78 suspects were arrested as a result of actionable intelligence concerning their suspected involvement in internet illegal activities.
They recovered mobile phones, laptop computers, and 13 vehicles.
The anti-graft agency noted that the accused would be charged in court as soon as the investigations were completed.
