The Police have arrested another suspect who is allegedly involved in the murder of the former lawmaker and president general of Nimo community, Hon Frank-Anthony Igboka three weeks ago, riddled with bullets in his Chevrolet SUV in Oye Nimo market at about 8pm.
The State Commissioner of Police, CP Mustapha Dandaura in a press briefing on Monday disclosed this information, adding that the command had paraded one of the kingpins who actively participated in the ferocious act.
“It would also be recalled that in the same vein, His Excellency, Governor Willie Obiano increased the reward to Five Million Naira (#5000,000) on each of the three suspects declared wanted in order to fas track Police investigation.
“In view of the foregoing and following credible intelligence report, the Command Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) had on Friday 03/5/2019 at about 7:30pm arrested the second principal suspect, one Okoye Ernest Chinwe aka (IBB) ‘m’ aged 34 years of Obosi in Idemili North LGA of Anambra State who was initially concealed and later mentioned by the first suspect following discreet investigation.
“The suspect was traced and arrested in his hideout at old INEC road Awka. Upon interrogation, he confessed to being among the gang members that shot and killed the President General and is assisting the Police with useful information that could lead to unveiling the circumstances surrounding the incident and arrest other fleeing accomplices.”
Dandaura thanked the Governor of the state, Willie Obiano and the people of Anambra State whom he said were observed to have been very cooperative with the law enforcement agencies in the quest to arrest the killers of the former lawmaker
Source had it that the community attributed his killing to cultists, who had been ravaging the community before he became the president general and banished the cultists from the community.
