State governors elected under the umbrella of the main opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Nigeria have vowed that come 2027, the party will wrestle power back from the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
The PDP berated the APC for misgovernance of the country, thereby bringing untold hardship on Nigerians, who are finding it pretty difficult to live in the midst of economic hardship.
Chairman of the PDP Governors Forum and Bauchi State Governor, Senator Bala Mohammed Abdulkadir, made the declaration in Jalingo, Taraba State, during a Gala Nite organised in honour of the Forum by the host governor.
Bala Mohammed reaffirmed the PDP’s commitment to restoring Nigeria’s economic stability and security when it returned to power in 2027.
Bala Mohammed emphasised that the PDP is ready to tackle the country’s challenges, having been there before 2015, when it lost power at the centre, lamenting that the APC has destroyed what the PDP built in 16 years.
As Chairman of the PDP Governors’ Forum, Governor Mohammed addressed his colleagues, highlighting the PDP’s vision for a better Nigeria and urging them to work with the same vision in their respective states in order to win the confidence of the citizens.
He emphasised the need for a unified approach to addressing the country’s economic and security woes, which were inflicted on the citizens by the bad governance of the ruling All Progressives Congress.
The governor’s encouraging statement comes amidst growing concerns over Nigeria’s economic downturn and rising insecurity across the country, a development that has created instability among the citizens.
